Ever have one of those days where you run around in circles…overwhelm kicks in and you can’t seem to start, much less complete, something…anything?
I’ve been like that today…until… I faced the agitation of my self-made whirlwind. Halt. It’s time to get a grip! Okay, I said, so what do I want?
“What will make me Happy in this moment?”
You see I had two conflicting desires. I thought I wanted to clean house, (believe it or not it felt like a big deal, I think better when things are orderly and clean), but really couldn’t seem to get anything done. Then I realized want I really wanted was to spend time in my office. Yet the question lingered in my mind, “But what about my house?”
As I thought it through I came to the conclusion that tomorrow, Sat. would work out perfectly (my husband would be working that day and I like to be left alone in my focused cleaning mode).
Once I created a plan (so I knew when my other desires would get met) and chose to do what I most wanted in that moment, overwhelm left.
And inspiration kicked in!
I’ve been trying to figure out what to write for my post this week but nothing…till…I decided and then chose what I most wanted, simply with the question: “What will make me Happy in this moment?”
Simple. To the point. Life-altering question.
“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.” Omar Khayyam
I encourage you to give it a try, ask yourself throughout your day, “What will make me happy in this moment?” And then live it!
Love to hear what it’s like for you when asking the happy question. Please respond below.
In happiness,
Gloria
